LUCERARO.
Where light finds its form.
LUCERARO is an American jewelry brand. Founded in the US in 2015. Still run from here.
We started as a workshop. Not a brand. A workshop with no name on the door.
In 2015, two classmates from business school — both with finance backgrounds — opened a setting atelier in the US. One understood capital and how to build a company. The other understood diamonds and the craft of setting stones.
For years, we set diamonds for other people's brands. Five brands. Seven independent designers. Thousands of stones. We never signed our work.
But we noticed something technical: light behaves differently when a diamond is set well. When the setting respects the stone's proportions, light enters at the right angle and exits with more intensity. It finds paths through the metal that a poor setting would block.
We learned how to remove metal without weakening structure. How to open the bottom of a setting so light can pass through. How to place prongs so they hold the stone without interrupting its light path.
Our best work was never the most complicated. It was the pieces where light did the talking. Where metal was reduced to the minimum. Where nothing was added that didn't need to be there.
As we exhibited at jewelry shows around the world, we met more people in the industry and institutions. We built partnerships in Italy and Hong Kong — working with a studio in Italy and with master makers in Hong Kong.

Then, in 2024, we made a decision. We stopped setting natural diamonds and moved entirely to laboratory-grown diamonds.
The industry reaction was mixed. Some ignored it. Some dismissed it. Some treated it as a threat. But we saw an upgrade, not a compromise. Lab-grown diamonds are chemically, physically, and optically identical to earth-mined diamonds. Same hardness. Same brilliance. Same fire. That is not a marketing claim. It is a fact any gemological lab can verify.
They also come without what we never wanted to defend: no mining, no conflict, no damage to the land. And they come with possibility — larger stones without impossible prices, consistent quality, and a supply that doesn't depend on who controls a mine.
Today, our focus is laboratory-grown colored diamonds. Pink. Blue. Yellow. Green. Colors that were once almost impossible to own. Now within reach — not because we lowered standards, but because technology caught up with imagination.
We also love Italian vintage style. Filigree. Floral motifs. Settings that look a hundred years old but hold light like they were made tomorrow. We study those techniques, reinterpret them, and give them new life in colored diamonds.
One piece made us decide. A client asked for a ten-carat stone in a vintage-inspired setting. Filigree. Floral motif. Twenty days of work. When it was finished, one of our setters held it to the window and said: "You created beauty beyond my wildest imagination."
He was right. The light moved through the filigree, caught the edge of the petals, seemed to breathe. We started asking why. We looked at the setting, the angles, the metal left on the bottom, the way the filigree framed the light instead of blocking it.
That conversation was the beginning of LUCERARO.
We called the brand LUCERARO because of what we do, not what we sell. Luce — light. Raro — rare. Not rare as in expensive. Rare as in: it doesn't happen by accident.
We are not claiming to be artists or geniuses. We are claiming something simpler: we know how to set a diamond so light behaves the way it should.
That is our craft. That is what we put our name on.
The rest — the meaning — belongs to you.
The light you wear is not borrowed. It is yours. Because you chose it. Because you put it on. Because you decided it was worth wearing.
That decision is the only certification that matters.
